WW Channel Marketing organization forgo annual holiday get together
In the spirit of frugality during this season of giving, the WW Channel Marketing organization decided to forgo their annual holiday get - together and instead, volunteered their services to Catholic Charities CYO at a holiday dinner and party on Dec 15th. The event, in connection with Compass Community Services, provided holiday dinner and entertainment for 800 individuals and over 350 "at risk" families. Guests were treated to a hot Christmas dinner featuring roast turkey, honey baked ham, plus all of the usual fixings. In addition to adorning the San Francisco Fair Building with holiday decorations, the NetApp crew served food and bussed tables as families streamed in throughout the day. The children were treated to entertainment by a local DJ, participated in arts, crafts and face painting -- with the day topped off by a special visit from Santa Claus bearing gifts for only the best behaved children.
The holiday season can be a difficult time for many, especially during these times of economic uncertainty. For the NetApp employees who took a Volunteer Time Off day to participate, it was gratifying to be able to give back to the community, if just for a day.
Special thanks to the NetApp team:
